Thread: Injector Impedance?

    Default Injector Impedance?

Are the Terminator EFI TBI injectors high or low impedance? Interesting that the install PDF says they are 65lb injectors but the replacement part number (522-801) lists them as 80lb.

    They're four 80 lb/hr, high impedance injectors.

That's a misprint. The Terminator throttle body is also 950 CFM, not 700 CFM.

Misprint - The software states that all Holley TBIs are low impedance injectors.

That's not true. The EFI software correctly states the Terminator TBI injectors are "High Impedance".
Open the EFI software and enter the Engine Parameters (under System Parameters - System ICF),
Injection Type - "TBI", System Type - "Terminator Custom", Injector Type - "High Impedance".
Also, the Terminator TBI unit actually uses MPFI type injectors, not true TBI type injectors.

Engine Parameters - clicking the Help tab on "Fuel Injection Information" states that all Holley TBI are of low impedance; even though it correctly loads the Terminator Custom - High impedance injectors.

Oh, you were referring to the "Help" Contents...when you said software, I thought you meant Engine Parameters.
Anyway, the "Help" Contents were originally written long before the Terminator was even designed. It needs to be updated.

My computer terminology needs to be updated. The learning curve will be steep over the next while, but I'm finding it interesting and fun, which is a first.

I have found dialing it in only slightly challenging and mostly fun. The payoff is huge, my car has never run better.

The confusion back when this thread was written has never been corrected. V5 EFI software Holley HP under Help? pulled down to injector type still reads, "Description: User must select from “High Impedance” or “Low Impedance”. Incorrect selection will result in damage to the injectors and/or ECU. All Holley TBI injectors are Low Impedance." It does self correct to "high" when choosing 550-405 or 406. This needs to be corrected, been wrong for about 10 years.
