Thread: Engine Speed Hookup?

    Default Engine Speed Hookup?

I'm back! Danny, just to clarify. I'm using an MSD Digital 6 Plus (#6520) and an MSD Pro Billet distributor (#8580). To get the engine speed signal I will need to use the plug with the single black/yellow wire and connect it to the tach output on the side of the MSD box as stated on page 16 in Option #2. I will NOT be utilizing the yellow wire coming from the 'loose wire' bundle for my application. Correct?
    Thank you, Ed

    You are correct.
A CD ignition box uses the yellow/black wire (ignition adapter), not the loose yellow wire.

OK. Thanks again. I'm glad I double checked and went back to the manual and confirmed with you. I'm ready to hook up the two main power wires to the battery and before I do that, I wanted to double check all my connections. It's good I did, because as it is now, I have it wrong. I have the solid yellow "coil'' wire hooked up instead. I must have misread things. Again, thank you. Tomorrow should be the day. Fingers crossed!
