Are you pushing in the connectors all the way until it "clicks"?

Yes, I have three USB ports on my computer, and it does it on all three. The connecter to the harness is tight too.
Ah, OK. I thought you were talking about the Terminator X Max ECU itself. Are you talking about the handheld? Or are you referring to a laptop? If it's a laptop, it might be a problem with your laptop or maybe a loose connection/bad USB cable?

Maybe due to USB cable noise interference, or the laptop itself.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Make sure in your laptop settings that all signs of Energy Savings and Power Management are OFF. Many vendor schemes with their own cocktail of Windows, turn off the USB when running on battery if you don't have it locked out. USB is hard to monitor from the OS, has to do with the chipset.
My power management and energy savings are all off. It seems to happen more often when I datalog, it will kick out after 30 seconds or so, then when I reconnect it will work for 4 minutes or so before it happens again.
