    Cool 502-9 TBI Concerns

    I am considering purchasing a 509-2 TBI to replace the stock unit on my 92 Chevy K1500 with 5.7 motor. Everything under the hood is completely stock.

    I have read a few blogs indicating a need to tweak the settings in the ECM in order to get the Holley TBI to actually improve performance. Some of these posts I read are pretty old, so I'm looking some current truth on this.

    My main interest in the 502-9 is the statement that it is a "direct bolt-on replacement" for the stock unit. If that is not the case, I would really like to know what I'm getting into.

    Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

    It's advertised as a direct OEM replacement.
    Does yours look exactly like the one pictured?
    The instructions don't mention any ECU tuning.

    Do you want to "improve performance" or a "direct bolt-on replacement"?
    You mentioned both these goals in your post. ECU tuning increases power.
