    Default BBC Build Advice

    I have a1984 454 with 70,000 miles on it. I want to put cam, heads, intake & EFI on it. Where or who can advise me on the parts that make the most sense for a weekend driver that needs a little more power? Thanks.

    You didn't state your goals, but presumably this is going to be a street friendly build.

    There are many great heads and intakes on the market, if you haven't been to, take a look there. Those guys love big block and there are many people with experience that can guide you.

    As far as cam, you want to stay conservative and pick a cam that will get you 14-15 inches of vacuum.

    For the EFI systems, if you want a throttle body system, then a great option is the Terminator X Stealth. It uses the Terminator X ECU and can also be had with transmission control (choose a Terminator X Max ECU) if you go with an electronically controlled transmission in the future.

    The Sniper distributor, HyperSpark ignition box & coil make for a solid ignition system.
