Where to install engine run-on diode?

Hello everyone. I've got a 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme. I've installed an MSD 6 Plus controller in the car along with MSD distributor and Blaster HVC coil. (Model numbers are in my other posts.) The question I have is where do I install the diode for engine run-on. The instructions say two things. 1) Install on alternator wire, or 2) Install it on the voltage regulator. I have both, a 2-wire alternator and a voltage regulator. So where do I put it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You misunderstood the MSD wiring diagram. Think of it this way. There's only one charging lamp indicator wire ("To Charge Light" in MSD instructions). Splice the MSD diode on that wire as shown in the instructions.
