    Default Atomic EFI & California

    Bear with me if this has been asked before. Is there or was there any plan to get the Atomic EFI for Ford, MOPAR, etc. legalized for California? I realize it's been 5-6 years since the CARB 'Executive Order' was granted for '87 and older Chevy/GMC, but what gives for the other makes? Why are GMC and Jeeps the only ones with CA approved systems? What's the real story?

    I'm dying to put EFI on my '78 351W, but there's absolutely nothing on the market that's CA emissions legal. Thanks for reading.

    It costs to much to do. There are some ways around it. Example: Before California passed the 75 and lower rule (no smog testing on 75 & below vehicles), the previous owner of my '75 Vega paid around $10,000.00 to get it smog certified for California with a V8. I guess it would cost $30,000.00 to $40,000.00 in today's money. The fun part is you can only do it for one owner. The new owner would have to do it all over again.
