Default Which EFI software version to choose?

Hello. I bought a Ford F100 with a 4.6L Crown Victoria engine and the previous owner had the Holley EFI installed in a dyno shop. He told me it was a "Holley HP EFI ECU & Harness Kit 550-617", but he didn't have any EFI software, it's Dyno shop.
I'd like to install the EFI software on my PC but I'm a beginner and I do not know anything! For my part, I can not find any reference on the box, I'm attaching pictures of the installation. I don't know what to take as EFI software, can you tell me which version to take! Do you also have a downloadable manual for the MSD controller? Therefore, can you enlighten me on the model that I have! Thank you very much. Jim

The latest Holley EFI V5 software & firmware can be downloaded HERE.
Read the V5 Software Overview document HERE, or in the EFI software "Help" Contents.
Successfully install the new V5 EFI software (laptop), before installing the V5 ECU firmware.
Ensure the Holley EFI software is not open and the ECU is not powered on/connected when installing the new software.

    • "Get From ECU" & "Send To ECU" - ECU Sync window:
When you connect a laptop and go "Online" with the ECU, you first want to click "Get From ECU". This updates your laptop with the latest ECU "state of tune". If you click "Send To ECU", you overwrite all the Learning the ECU has performed since the last time that laptop was connected (because you're not sending the latest, up to date values to the ECU). The only time you should click "Send To ECU", is if you're just sending a Global File change to the ECU and you haven't driven the vehicle since the last time the laptop was connected.

Thanks Danny. What's the difference between Build 171 & Build 140? Which version should be taken?
