Thread: Terminator ECU Plug

    Default Terminator ECU Plug

Sorry for my English. To upgrade firmware in this Holley 554-119 ECU, is it a USB 2.0 plug? I can't find this information on the notices. Thanks.

USB 2.0 or 3.0 on your laptop, it doesn't matter.

OK on my laptop, but on the ECU?
It's not USB 2.0 or 3,0. So, what is it? Thanks.

It's a typical mini USB cable from a digital camera/video game system, etc.
It's a mini-USB on the ECU end, and a standard USB for the laptop end.

Holley's USB cable is nice because it secures to the ECU case with a threaded retainer.
With any USB cable, wire-tie it to the main harness (allowing a little slack), so it doesn't vibrate out or get pulled out.

    OK, thank you.
New question: With Terminator X, I see that it's possible to upgrade the ECU Firmware with the SD card of the touchscreen controller. Is it possible with the old "traditional" TERMINATOR EFI? (I use the kit 550-406K.)

Yes. An ECU firmware update is outlined in the instruction manual.

Do you have a Terminator X EFI system, or a regular Terminator EFI system? You've mentioned both in this forum thread.

Kit 550-406K. The regular TERMINATOR EFI.

Then stop mentioning the Terminator X, and ensure you download the correct EFI software/ECU firmware for the regular Terminator EFI (not Terminator X).

So let's clarify the situation: What's the difference between HP EFI ECU (#554-113) and TERMINATOR EFI ECU (#554-119)? So what's currently the correct EFI software/ECU firmware for the regular Terminator EFI 554-119?

Read the product description! One is the ECU only, and the other is ECU, USB data cable & software disc.

So what's currently the correct EFI software/ECU firmware for the regular Terminator EFI 554-119?
They're the same ECU, and they use the same EFI software/ECU firmware.

A Terminator ECU is an HP ECU; same ECU, just a different decal. Download the Holley EFI software to your laptop (LINK),
open the software with the USB cable (LINK/LINK) connected, click on "USB Link" to go "Online" with the ECU, and select "Get From
ECU", (if there's still a Global Folder/File in it), or "Send To ECU" (if you're selecting a new base calibration to upload into the ECU).
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.
