Thread: Filters?

    Default Filters?

Quick question why does pretty much nobody use the bronze looking filters in the carb? Most people will suggest install an inline filter. My fuel line is SS and cutting it and trying to flare is not on my list of things to do. Rubber hose is out the question also. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Those little (sintered bronze) stone filters can't flow enough fuel for high horsepower (unless they're spring loaded), and they're too small for filter longevity.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

@joeyA: And your whole fuel line is hardline stainless from the tank to the carb, and no flexible line?
The bronze Holley bowl filters do not flow as well as many aftermarket inline filters, hence why everybody removes them, and designs their system appropriately. What fuel pump are you using?
