Manual Choke Issue
I have a very recent rebuilt list 3310 Holley manual choke carburetor, that I'm running on a 1982 Ford 460. I have the choke plate set to be open the width of a #2 pencil with choke cable pulled out, as per Holley videos I've found. The issue, is when I go to push the choke cable in the choke plate, it does not move. I can move the choke by hand, but seems a tad stiff. Cable is new, and moves freely. I'm attaching a video clip, showing what the cable does. What should I be checking, I have the cable running around the back side of the carb.

Your video doesn't work.
Cables should be run with large bends, and so the cable is probably binding up. Gary

Here's a photo showing how I have the cable routed. When I don't have the cable clamped down (see arrow in pic), cable moves freely. In photo, choke is open, I'm moving the lever by hand, until I figure out the problem.

That trunnion on the end of the lever should be free to rotate. Can you check it's free before connecting the cable? And you can work the choke by hand?
To me, if you're using a solid wire cable, they are more prone to being hard to operate. And why the extra supports that "clamp" the cable? Gary

Yes, the trunnion is free and can rotate. I can work the choke open and closed by moving the lever by hand, although the motion feels a little "stiff". The extra supports are for just that, extra support because of where I had to locate things, being this is in a one ton van.

That's good info so far. Yes, I can see you have this in a van. Now the fault sounds like you should be removing the manual choke housing for further examination. Gary

I was thinking I may have to do just that. Are there any exploded view diagrams of the manual choke assembly so I can see how it all goes together? Luckily I can work inside when I take the assembly off the carb body.

Took off the manual choke linkage assembly this morning. Gonna look it all over and see if anything is out of whack.

Looks like the fast idle cam is bent on the shaft. The cam should be 90° to the shaft. Gary
