Thread: What throttle body on Holley intake?

    Yeah, I already have it. So even though it says it's for a 58x crank, it will still work on a Gen 3?

    The ECUs are the same. The wiring between Gen 3 & Gen 4 engines are different. There are significant differences in the sensors. This is why Holley has so many different kits.

    To get the right kits, first choose Gen 3 or Gen 4. Then choose which injector style you're going to use, then which TB. I'd definitely stick with DBW. Andrew

    Aside from benefits for traction control, what makes them so much better for the typical street strip car? A good ole fashioned idle air control and TPS throttle body with a cable seems simpler to setup?

    I know NOTHING about DBW, other than for OEM traction control, it works better than the old stuff. What am I missing?

    Drive-By-Wire allows you to program a custom electronic throttle airflow curve (linear or non-linear), which is beneficial for particularly large mono-blade throttle body & engine combinations.

    In addition to what Danny mentioned, it's also very easy to set the TB opening to achieve proper IAC values at hot idle. Despite not having an actual IAC valve, the tuning logic is the same. The other benefit, that I rarely see mentioned, is the fact that you have an extremely smooth and consistent pedal feel, which improves driveability. Andrew
