Thread: Sniper EFI Misfire

    Default Sniper EFI Misfire

I've been having an intermittent misfire. Test drive around the block had it intermittently hesitate, as I give it more gas it suddenly surges forward, shutdown and restarted, drove perfectly 10 miles on freeway. Shutdown and drove home, started hesitating at cruising of 2000 RPM. Fuel gauge under hood shows 59 psi at idle.

New plug wires on order, found one of the boots was burnt from headers. Just checked Holley Sniper coil resistance, .7 Ohms primary, 5.2K Ohms secondary, isn't that supposed to be 4.7K?

I did notice a lot of rotational play in the dual sync distributor. Is that normal, or did my gear wear out prematurely maybe?

    408W
    Mild camshaft
    Holley Dual Sync distributor
    Less than 500 miles.

Post a Config File and a datalog over in the Sniper forum. Snipers have a lot of issues with RFI noise on SB Ford engines. Shutdown and restarting is typically a sign of RFI noise.
