Thread: Terminator X LS3 harness knock sensors.

Default Terminator X LS3 harness knock sensors.

Hi all. I have a hopefully simple question. I bought the Terminator X Max ECU & wiring kit to suit an LS3. The kit I bought was 550-920. The engine has been built with the 24x/1x instead of 58x/4x, as I'll be using a cable throttle, not DBW. I've found a separate video detailing what needs to be done to convert this one, so all good there.

The one connection that doesn't mate straight up to the engine are the knock sensors. The engine has been drilled & tapped to suit the older style LS1 knock sensors that have a single wire connection (in the same location though, down on either side of the block). Whereas the wiring harness has the two wire connection used as standard on LS3 knock sensors.

From what I've read, I should be fine to connect the single wire knock sensor to the sensor wire in the harness connection. This would leave the ground wire for the knock sensor unused. I would then just need to configure what type of knock sensors I'm using in the EFI software. Could anyone please confirm this is correct? Will I run into any issues wiring them up this way/leaving the knock sensor ground unused? Appreciate any advice you can provide.

Correct. See this post: http://forums.holley.com/showthread....ors-Holley-EFI (Knock Sensor Wiring & Tuning) & post #18.

    Yes.

    No.
