    Default TFI Help

Bought Fox body setup that comes with the TFI distributor adapter. I installed distributor at 10° before top dead center with rotor pointing near #1 cylinder. Turn key on screen says stall then goes sync error. Am I missing something?

Replace the ignition module with a genuine Ford Motorcraft TFI ignition module.
You want the gray Push Start TFI ignition module.
If optional, purchase the one for a manual transmission.
If you have spark, check this:

at least, the first four cylinders in the firing order using a timing light.
If your cylinders are firing in 90° intervals BUT in the wrong sequence,
the coil harness is connected wrong (at the ECU or at the coil packs).
Hopefully you have a fully degreed balancer or at least markings every 90°:
1st cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 0° (or 15° - add whatever your cranking timing is)
2nd cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 270° (or 285° - cranking timing added)
3rd cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 180° (or 195° - cranking timing added)
4th cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 90° (or 105° - cranking timing added)
5th cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 0° (or 15° - cranking timing added)
6th cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 270° (or 285° - cranking timing added)
7th cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 180° (or 195° - cranking timing added)
8th cylinder, in firing order, should fire at 90° (or 105° - cranking timing added)
The Terminator X doesn't record System Logs because it's only capable of external datalogging (PC or 3.5" TSLCD).
If necessary, email a regular datalog of this no-start condition to Holley Tech Service (LINK) for analysis.
TPS Autoset? Battery fully charged? Correct fuel injectors selected (low or high impedance) in Engine Parameters?

Try charging the battery, if you haven't already. The Ford TFI distributor's Hall-Effect PIP sensor is the crank sensor, and the TFI module transmits crank & cam sensor signals. If the Data Monitor doesn't display legitimate cranking RPM, I'd try replacing the ignition module or the PIP sensor.

I appreciate the response. The vehicle was running before the swap with a Motorcraft TFI module. But I'll buy a new one to be safe. Would I get spark if RPM signal is in error?

No RPM signal, no fuel or spark.

So if wiring is correct, then we'd have to assume it's in the distributor? If tonight I go home, install new TFI and still nothing what should I look at next?
