Thread: HP V2 to V5?

    Default HP V2 to V5?

    Can I update a HP EFI ECU running 2V straight to v5? Firmware and software? Reason I ask is that I downloaded the V5 files, opened up the ECU in the car with the present V2 software (firmware version HEFI_00001589.eep) and tried to update to V5 through the sync button. Navigated to the downloaded firmware file (HEFI_05001400.eep) and it said "file appears to be corrupted". Anybody tell me what's happening here? Any advice?
    I don't have to update to V3 first, etc do I? Thank you. Andy.

    Yes, you can update straight to V5 EFI software/ECU firmware.

    Thanks Danny. Just an update on this one.I followed all the steps on the link you sent me. Uninstall & reinstall via Control Panel, Run As Administrator, disable anti-virus and file is corrupted. Damn.

    Holley TECH suggested "In some cases customers have had to go from V2 to V4110, and then to V5. If you're having issues going direct I'd incorporate V4 in the mix and it should be fine".

    So I tried to get to V4 firmware and it worked! Then tried to get to V5 and file is still corrupted! So V4 it will stay! For the time being. Andy.

    It seems there's something about the V5 EFI software download that your computer doesn't accept. Maybe try temporarily turning off the Windows Firewall or something.
