Thread: Blocked Off IAC Valve

    Default Blocked Off IAC Valve

So I'm working on getting my new Holley Terminator X system up & running in my Fox body Mustang with a N/A 427 and for awhile now. My IAC valve has been blocked off and my engine idles really good at about 850. RPM. So would it be OK to keep it blocked off with the Holley system or will it cause any problems?

It could cause starting problems. I'd determine what's wrong with it: http://forums.holley.com/showthread....neral-IAC-Info (General IAC Information - Read "IAC NOTES")

Every engine runs better with a functioning IAC.
Cold start, hot start, idle loads, etc.
Get the engine to run correctly.
Your throttle is too far open to start with. Gary

Sorry guys I forgot to mention that I have a IAC adjuster plate on it too. The car has no A/C, so also and it just idles rock steady with this setup. I guess I can try it both ways with IAC and without, and see what happens. I just know when I had the IAC on in the past the idle would spike up and hang for a few seconds when I slowed down to a stop.

Just use the Holley EFI components as intended. Read Step #3: http://forums.holley.com/showthread....ents-Read-This (Initial Checks & Adjustments - Read Steps #1-#6!)
