Thread: AEM EPM reconfigured to work with Holley ECU.

Default AEM EPM reconfigured to work with Holley ECU.

I worked on a project a while back where we thought we could build a better mouse trap by starting with an AEM EPM. It turns out that the EPM doesn't play with a Holley out of the box, so at first we figured it was a dead end. But after digging around a little bit it became obvious that the shutter wheel in the EPM was fairly easy to replace. So a new shutter wheel that would play with a Holley was designed and installed. Next problem was hooking the EPM up to our Mopar test engine. That took a little bit of machine shop time to accomplish but it wasn't rocket science. Just needed to fabricate a base and shaft for the EPM.

Eventually we did get the system running on the dyno mule engine with a sequential port injection system and CNP. It worked okay at low engine speeds, but the EPM drive system was unstable at higher engine speeds so testing stopped. After working on it for a bit we decided that it was too much to ask from the little tiny wheel. I ended up designing a 36-1 wheel for the crank. The 36-1 crank trigger setup had dead stable timing so the EPM got kicked to the curb. I'll attach a couple of pictures.

Nice work Andy. This is how I converted my 508 big block Ford's previous distributor to a cam sync unit: https://forums.holley.com/showthread...al-EFI-Upgrade (Holley DIS & Sequential EFI Upgrade)
