    Default Transmission In Limp Mode

    I installed a Holley Dominator on my Typhoon. The transmission worked fine before the install and with the Dominator installed, it's stuck in limp mode. I verified power and ground at the connector to the transmission. What would be next?

    What transmission? And limp mode meaning you only have reverse and 1st gear?

    It's a 4L80E. Limp is second gear.

    In a factory PCM, it would mean it doesn't have the 4L80E tune, it still has a 4L60E tune. With the Dominator, can you set your 1-2 upshift at part throttle to 30 MPH and just see if it makes a difference? If not, I'd double check the pins in the connector and make sure everything is making good connection. Does it give you transmission temperature?

    Ensure you've selected the appropriate transmission type in the Transmission ICF.

    4L80E is indeed selected.

    After some looking, line pressure hangs out around 31 and does not move. What's next? LOL!

    Is that a mechanical gauge reading?

    No, it's from the Dominator. I talked to tech support today and used the toggle Strip Chart. It appears that the PCM is not commanding a shift. I wish Holley had codes or some sort of diagnostic center like Data Master. Gear always says 1. According to the tech I spoke with, that would indicate no command for a shift. I looked at all of the parameters, and from what I can see, it should all work.

    I have a thought here. My 4L80E came from a 1995 2500. Is it possible that the wiring harness was different than what the Holley is setup for?
