Thread: Ignition setup for Holley smart coils?

    Default Ignition setup for Holley smart coils?

    I'm running a Dominator ECU, LS Dart 440ci, 15.1 compression, 960 HP @ 8200 RPM. I was using GM coils, but I'm changing to Holley smart coils. What settings should I start with to configure them. Dwell, etc.? Regards, Gary

    Select "DIS Coil On Plug" as the Output Setup Type.

    On an engine like that, I'd highly recommend following the instructions to the tee. Once you get some experience under your belt, you might try playing with the Dwell just to see if you can find some more power. Best to work with someone who has experience with the same type of setup. FAST Man EFI is a good race tuner if you need some guidance.

    You won't need much Dwell at all, maybe 3.0 msec.
