    Default Holley HP EFI vs J&S Vampire

    Hello Holley forums. I've just purchased a new edge Saleen and the builder installed a Holley HP EFI system with the Digital Dash. From previous builds I've used the J&S Vampire system to detect knock and retard timing. It will detect it on a per cylinder basis and retard timing to that cylinder, then advance it again until it starts knocking, then retard it just below that level. It's a really cool system.

    I have a spare Vampire unit and I think it could be installed to piggy back on the Holley EFI system, but I'm not fully sure what the HP EFI system is capable of. Can a knock sensor be added and can it be programed to retard, then advance the timing per cylinder like the Vampire? Thanks!

    I'll dive into those links after work today, but yes the Vampire is a stand-alone system that works with dumb COP and is usually piggy backed on the factory COP wires in a Mustang at the ECU plug. I believe I could get the proper plugs and install the Vampire between HP and the Coil Drivers. Thank you for your assistance!
