Thread: Dominator with boosted blow-through carb.

  1. #1

Default Dominator with boosted blow-through carb.

Trying a Dominator ECU with a boosted LS1 with blow-through carb. Yes, I know overkill, but had all of it on hand. Will be tying it into an IQ3 street dash. Have lots of questions, but will do it in steps. Parts I have are the ECU, LS1 harness, WBO2 sensors with extension cable, boost control solenoid. I know I'll need can connector for Dash and ECU. Will I need a TPS sensor? If so, recommendation on what one to use with a Quick Fuel 850 blow-through. Powerglide transmission, so no transmission info needed. Full race, on E85.

I know I'll be using timing table based on MAP and data sensors. What other tables do I need to worry about? Also, is the Boost Builder compatible with a blow-through carb? Been searching my butt off, so places to go for info would be greatly appreciated.

Danny, I've read both those posts at length. Problem is, they are for nitrous setups. Not much info for boosted applications. I can’t find anywhere where the Boost Builder was used with a carb. My understanding is I will need TPS to activate it.

Yes, a TPS sensor & MAP sensor.

    To make it run, none.

Yes, but obviously not the fuel portion.

    I run a Dominator with a E85 blow-through on a LS1 & LS2, Powerglide, drag race only, no dash.
I'd recommend if there's a chance you may run a LS2 at some point, start with the LS2 harness PART# 558-103. It will be easier to go between LS1 & LS2. The main difference is cam sensor location. It's nice that Holley has setup the ECU to be able to run any combination of the crank & cam sensors on the LS platform. I'm currently running 24X - 1X (front) with the 58x - 4x harness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OChfI5i2S3Y&t=47s
