Thread: New handheld data boxes for timing & AFR read not available?

Default New handheld data boxes for timing & AFR read not available?

My handheld began some erratic behavior jumping from screens and when adjusting values the entries would be way off what I was in putting. Holley is amazing, they exchanged it without question and I received the replacement very quickly. Thank you for that. The new handheld will not show values for parameters for multiple fields. My first thought is incompatible firmware, but I updated the ECU when I installed the new handheld. Has anyone got any experience with this.

If you use the full "2D Table" Base Timing Table type (which is preferred), then the three "Simple" settings aren't available. (Same with the Target Air/Fuel Ratio table type.)
This is also why the Idle, Cruise & WOT parameters are grayed out in the Sniper EFI software when using the "2D Table" type Base Timing Table & Target A/F Ratio tables.

In the Sniper EFI software (LINK), Target Air/Fuel Ratio Table (Fuel ICF) & Base Timing Table (Spark ICF), select "2D Table" Type (not "Simple").
The Target Air/Fuel Ratio Table & Base Timing Table can then be properly configured & tuned for any engine.

Yeah, I don't like the way the Sniper SW engineers implemented that. They could've had the handheld read "2D" rather than "Not Available". That might have helped some people understand why it wasn't available. Or maybe it could read "See Table" or something like that.

Got it, thank you. I was concerned any change may not be reaching the ECU, but then as I would review datalogs those parameters were in line with corrections/adjustments I made. I suppose that should've helped me understand changes were uploading. Just wasn’t aware. Thanks again DC, you’ve officially reached wizard status in my book.
