Thread: MAT reading way off.

    Default MAT reading way off.

Hey guys. I’ve been troubleshooting numerous running issues with my 2V unit over the past several months. The most recent is a persistent overheating issue that I’ve tried nearly everything to remedy with no success. I put the car away for a couple months to devote time to another project. Today on the first startup after sitting, I noted something strange. When I powered the key on, and read the sensors gauges on the handheld, the MAT was -14°F, while the actual air temp here today was in the 60s. The temp did warm up on running for a while, but seemed much lower than expected even on warmup. My CTS has always seemed to be fairly accurate, even though I’m aware that many have had issues with those. My cold startups remain poor, the IAC goes to 100%, stays there for a long time. The “fast idle” does not follow the settings I have specified, and only falls into line with the set RPM after warming up quite a bit. I guess the question of the day is what do I do about the MAT issue, and how could that be impacting my AFR? Car is '66 Mustang with 289 small block. Thanks!

Contact Holley Tech Service (LINK). The Sniper EFI IAT sensor is a circuit board sensor that measures one throttle bore.
