Thread: Dart 340 quit running.

    Default Dart 340 quit running.

Approximately a month ago my Dart 340 with Terminator EFI quit along the highway, towed car to show. Holley tech support said it was my 1st gen dual sync distributor was bad because I had no spark to the cylinders. Bought a new 2nd gen dual sync from Jegs, installed it at the show ran for approximately two minutes. Then died and never restarted. Sent my second gen dual sync into Holley they repaired (RMA 172850) it. Installed it and it ran barely and it won't start. If you give it a little accelerator it will bobble like it trying to start. It has ran perfectly for two years with this setup. Here's my Config File and a datalog: TBI85SB245HE.zip 22150444.zip

Is the ignition timing synchronized? Read Step #4: http://forums.holley.com/showthread....ents-Read-This (Initial Checks & Adjustments - Read Steps #1-#6!)

I synced the dual sync distributor again. I realized I had it synced wrong, still won’t start. On my monitor under ECU overview throttle body type it reads error.

What? Please use the correct EFI software terminology. You mean Fuel System Injection Type, in Engine Parameters?

It reads it on my handheld controller, in the ECU overview area, Throttle Body Type: ReadErr. Is what it says. I'm just kind of stumped on why it quit and won't start.

This is what I'm talking about on my handheld monitor. Thanks in advance. I definitely don't have spark, I do have fuel. I'm wondering if I don't have a broke wire in the ignition system.

Look at your Engine Parameters screen (Fuel System - Injection Type & System Type) with the Holley EFI software (laptop). Ensure everything is programmed correctly.

I did and it showed Custom for some reason on my laptop. I changed it to the correct throttle body. It still show the ReadErr on the handheld. It does show the correct throttle body on the laptop. Could this be a contributing factor to my no start issue?

In the Engine Parameters screen, under Fuel System; the Injection Type should be TBI, and the System Type should be 550-405/406. Click "Save" and cycle the ignition switch off/on. (I'm referring to the Holley EFI PC software, not the 3.5" TSLCD.)

What's the wiring diagram for the wires coming out of the dual sync? I'd like to scope it to make sure I'm not losing a sensor.
