Thanks again Gary. When I get home I’ll dig into this carb and get it sorted out.

Hi Gary, one more question. What do you think about this series on Holley carb tuning and using a vacuum gauge? https://youtu.be/0MOVRTqrbag

Yes, that series from Summit is very good. If you have the time to watch & listen, and then apply the principles, they'll help with your tuning. Gary

Look up the Holley specs, there's a chart with metering plate specs in relation to jet sizing. That'll be your start point.

Another question Gary. I’m putting together my parts list. Would one of these fuel inlet fittings be easier to get a wrench on than the stock one, and also can you recommend a good wrench for this purpose? Thanks again.

That fitting is meant for -8AN ORB bowls, whereas your bowls will be 7/8-20.
My AN spanner set has socket & nut fitting sizes, designated as B end & S end. Gary

OK, so maybe I need to rephrase my question. Is there a better fuel inlet fitting than the stock one that has the same thread sizes as stock that has a better surface for a wrench, and/or is there a wrench specifically designed for this fitting? And if so, could you post me up a link? I’m trying, but the Holley website is challenging at best. Thanks again.

And for those struggling to keep up like I am, here’s an explanation of what a “B” nut is. I don’t know if this is correct, so take it for what it’s worth. Now to figure out what the S end of a wrench is for. https://pipeandhose.com/abstract/b-nut

This is the type of fitting I like for early 7/8-20 bowls, smaller hex for more room, and no need for over tightening: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holley-Q...kAAOSwO~hXHqva. Gary
