Thread: Love for the '96-'98 Cobras? Swapping one into my '68 Coupe.

Default Love for the '96-'98 Cobras? Swapping one into my '68 Coupe.

So the easy part was all the fabrication required to get this thing in my car. Now that I'm ready to start working on the electronics, my original plan might not work. I had purchased a parts car that came with a BAMA tuner. I was originally going to keep it all stock and just have PATS turned off. After my small list of mods, I was informed the EPA won't let them disable unneeded O2 sensors or tune out the EGR and possibly the IMRC delete since it could throw an engine code. That's a bummer. No point in using the stock harness then, right?

Pro-M & Holley were given as superior alternatives by fellow enthusiasts, and since I can't seem to get a hold of anyone at Pro-M. I'm here to pick your collective brains. This is going into a fun to drive street car. N/A, some emissions deletions, 4.10 gears, and a bump in compression. Possible power adder in the future, but right now I just want to get her running & driving. The donor car was a 1998 Cobra convertible.

Is there anyone here that has documented or even performed this conversion? I see the kit is for 99-04, but how different is my engine? I'd like to keep the coil packs since I'm going for that look. A single WBO2 sensor makes me scratch my head. How well does that work? How well made is the Holley harness? Will it work with my stock sensors or do I need to buy a bunch of Holley stuff? How hard is it to tune this EFI system? Is it plug & play? DO I need a series of college courses to even get it to start?
EDIT: I also noted that this will convert my MASS Air system to Speed Density? Thanks!

Appreciate the reply! I'll look through that and see if it answers any of my queries. Anyone else on the boards have a 4.6L Cobra setup?
