Thread: Knock sensor in datalog?

    Default Knock sensor in datalog?

I'm not currently running knock sensors. This is a LS2 with the Holley LS2 harness. It's a drag only car. I'm not wanting the knock sensors to control anything. I didn't know if I install knock sensors could I look at that data in the datalog and it be a tuning reference for me?

Yes. The knock sensor parameters can be turned off, and the "Knock Level" channel can still be reviewed in a datalog for tuning purposes.

Nice. I see where to set them up in the Ignition Parameters, but haven't been able to find how to insure there is no modifier for them. I don't see anything associated with them in the Fuel or Spark ICF. Will they be in the datalog as "Knock Level"? Averaged?

See the ESC Parameters screen in the Spark ICF. Zero the ESC Parameters & Max Timing Retard table.

Will they be in the datalog as "Knock Level"?
Yes, there's "Knock Level" & "Knock Retard" in the Data Monitor & Datalogger.

I take it I can zero "Max Timing Retard" the table out and it will not retard. Even though the minimum Retard Per Ring is 1°? Thanks again.

Yes. I stated, "Zero the ESC Parameters (Retard Per Ring & Timing Restore Rate) & Max Timing Retard table."

Danny, the "Retard Per Ring & Timing Restore Rate" have a minimum of 1 and will not allow zero.

Just leave this table at zero and it will not retard the timing.

I forgot about that, but it doesn't matter anyway.
