Thread: No start after moving Sniper to new engine.

Unhappy No start after moving Sniper to new engine.

I replaced my 327 SBC with a new 350 crate engine. I simply unplugged the Sniper and moved it to the new engine. It worked great on the 327. No wiring or plumbing changes were necessary. I'm also using the same distributor & coil. I reprogrammed using the handheld. I've gone through the no start flowchart and everything checks out. The engine does not fire at all when I crank it. The handheld only indicates "Error!" for all values including RPM when cranking. I have checked & rechecked the spark plug wiring, firing order & timing. I have no idea what to check next.

That's the problem, there's no RPM signal from the distributor. Check the distributor wiring.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

You should get a working dashboard on the handheld before you crank the engine. If the dashboard isn't working with the key on, then don't bother cranking the engine. Solve the first problem first.
