Thread: Diagnostics

    Default Diagnostics

Is there a diagnostic flow chart to figure out a problem? I have a Terminator TBI EFI and my car just quit running a week ago. I've called tech support with relatively no help. They told me that my distributor was bad (Holley Dual Sync). So I drove an hour to Jegs and bought a new second generation Holley dual sync distributor. I installed it and it ran for two minutes and died and hasn't restarted since. I've tried a new MSD 6AL box, I've reset the distributor sync, I went through & checked the configuration in V5. I'm at a loss would like to know what to check for next.

I finally had some time to check some stuff out on my Dart. Everything looks normal. It shows RPM and shows that it's syncing. It has no spark I've tried a new MSD box and a new coil. I also installed a known good MSD box off a running car. My coil checks primary & secondary right with the new coil. When my car initially quit, I noticed that a plug wire had come of the distributor cap. So we towed it to where we where going. I had spark out of the coil, not to the separate spark plugs. That's when Holley tech support said I needed a new distributor (I probably needed a new cap & rotor). I called Jegs (we where in Columbus, OH). They had a new generation dual sync. I installed it the car ran for two minutes and stalled and never restarted. After that I lost all spark. I have none out of the coil. I sent my new dual sync in to see if there's a problem with it or something I might of caused (RMA#172850). The Terminator and dual sync have been on the car for two years without problems until a month ago. Thanks for any help.
