Default Twin spark ignition 4 cylinder engine.

Hi. Would the MSD 6AL-2 IGNITION work on a 4 cylinder twin spark engine with two coils in parallel or series connection?

I have a distributor cap that's build for this type of engine.

I'd say NO & NO. Your factory ignition would have an individual firing event per coil, one after the other, and you cannot get that with two coils in either of your configurations. They would fire at the same time. Gary

The factory ignition is without a distributor. I'm to use the engine in a race category where I'm not allowed to use a distributor less ignition. There are two spark plugs in each cylinder, so I do need the coils to fire at the same time. The distributor cap is a “two in one”. It's designed to distribute two spark at the same time.
