Thread: TPS only goes to 65%.

Default TPS only goes to 65%.

I just installed a Sniper unit. Got it fired up last night, but have not driven it yet. When doing the sensor check, my TPS will only to 65% and no higher. And that's with no throttle cable connected and opening it by hand at the throttle body. Is this anything I should be worried about? Can it be adjusted, or will it correct itself as I drive and it Learns?

The Sniper EFI calibrates the TPS sensor at every key-on event. If replacing the TPS, the TPS sensor is located at the end of the primary throttle shaft, opposite end of the throttle lever. It's slotted, so install it in the same position. Holley 543-111 TPS or Standard Motor Products TH191 TPS.

Do the throttle blades open all the way? If they open all the way, but the TPS thinks it is at 65%, then you have a bad TPS. If they don't open all the way then you have a different problem.

The throttle blades could be hitting the gasket, the intake, the spacer, etc. Verify by looking down from top while you move them full throttle.
