Thread: HP EFI V4 with two 3.5" TSLCDs connected?

  1. Default HP EFI V4 with two 3.5" TSLCDs connected?

    Is this possible, using CAN Bus 1 & CAN Bus 2 with the same HP ECU? Can the ECU address each LCD on the CAN Bus independently to effectively show different Multi-Gauge panels on each? Have no need to make tune changes on either LCD, just for dual display reasons. I like to live monitor the AFR & Sensors built-in dash configs as quasi warning lights (yellow/red scaling colors), but have to switch between them manually to do so. Would love to mount two 3.5" (effectively 3.5 x 7") side by side which would fit nicely in my car vs one of the bigger, more expensive Digital Dash/TSLCD units. I already have analog speedometer/tachometer, and other vitals gauges in dash. Anyone actually try this? Sorry if it's been answered already, I did a quick search and didn't find anything. Thanks!

    Yes, you can connect two 3.5" TSLCD units (or a 3.5" TSLCD & Digital Dash). The dual 4-pin Molex Mizu-P25 connector, easily allows multiple Holley EFI devices to be connected onto the CAN1 Bus/power circuit.

    I run two 3.5" touchscreens. They work great. It's all plug & play.

    I run a 3.5" TSLCD and a 7" Digital Dash. Yes, it's plug & play like how I stated in post #2.

    Thanks gents. I figured it should, but wanted to be sure and not find out after buying the second 3.5" TSLCD. So under Basic I/O, both CAN Bus 1 Type and CAN Bus 2 Type should be set to "Holley Standard", and I would just connect to the second port on the harness adapter. Appreciate the help!

    Yes. (The HP EFI doesn't even have the CAN Bus 2 Type circuit/wiring/connector.)

    Ah, thanks for clarifying Danny! I mistook the dual 4-pin Molex Mizu-P25 connector you mentioned on my harness to each be their own "CAN Bus" with respect to the software Basic I/O. I see now in the Help, it explains that as follows.
    CAN Bus
    Description: The user can select from “Holley Standard”, which is required to use Holley CAN devices, such as the 5.7” Touchscreen LCD or Avenger Handheld Devices. There's a selection called “Racepak” that will output specific information that can be used to log on a Racepak system (requires a Racepak module, contact them for information at 1-949-709-555 or www.racepak.com). The third choice is “Not in Use” which can be selected if CAN is not being used. There are two CAN channels shown, (1 & 2). Holley Avenger and HP ECU’s only have one CAN channel, while a Dominator has a second channel on the J3 connector.
