Thread: Edelbrock dual-plane intake on a Mopar 440?

Default Edelbrock dual-plane intake on a Mopar 440?

Good morning. I'm planning to order a Sniper EFI system for a 70' Mopar 440 engine. The engine has an Edelbrock CH 4B intake. Is this a good intake for installing the Sniper system or which would be the best intake option for a 440?
    Thanks in advance.

I have a Edelbrock dual-plane on my BB Ford FE. It's working very well. I do have a Moroso 1/2" spacer. Joey.S

Use the appropriate intake manifold type & model for your engine application/combination. The dual-plane incompatibility fallacy has been debunked many times on this forum: (Related Forum Thread)

I've sent an email to Summit Racing, and they told me that the 650HP Sniper works better with a dual-plane unless it's a racing only application.

I think that's the wrong way to answer the question. Dual-plane or single-plane depends on some other factors such as engine size, RPM range and intended use. I have a single-plane on my street car even though I don't race the car. The engine is 500 cubic inches, so I use a single-plane intake. If I had a 383 or 400 inch street engine, I'd use a dual-plane intake.
