Thread: Dominator firmware update error.

  1. #1

    Default Dominator firmware update error.

I had an HP ECU and got a brand new Dominator ECU. I cannot get the firmware to update to V5. I get error 29, and it tells me to cycle power and try again. That doesn’t work. It allows me to update V4 and load my tune. However, once I open V5 and try to update, it goes for varying amounts of time and will give that error. I update my HP to V5 without issue. I've tried uninstalling everything on my computer. I have my laptop plugged in and battery on a trickle charge. What am I missing?

That's the latest V5 version and it installed just fine for me.

I agree, it installed fine for me on my HP. I was wondering if there was anything I could be overlooking. Once the error occurs, it still lets me reflash the V4 and change anything at will, and syncs just fine.

I had the same problem. I just restarted the install. Had to do this about four times to finish the install. Each time it would get further on the install until it was finally complete.

I did it at least 15 times today and didn’t have any luck. It did get down to 6 minutes one time, but the next two were much shorter. Can you update it with the 7” Digital Dash?

No, but the 3.5" TSLCD can.

Yes sir. It will take the V4 after the V5 failure to restore the ECU. I’ve made it to within 1 minute of the BAM header being done several times and then get error 29. It’s pretty frustrating.
