Thread: Sniper 4500 In A Pure Drag Race Application?

Default Sniper 4500 In A Pure Drag Race Application?

Is anyone using the Sniper 4500 for a “pure” drag racing application? It looks doable if you simplify the process. Open Loop tuning until you release the transbrake, then 400 RPM later, go to Closed Loop with a Target AFR. Is should be more consistent. Anyone care to share your experience?

Holley EFI already goes into Open Loop (no Learning) during the 2-Step Rev Limiter activation, so ensure the Base Fuel Table is well tuned in that area.

Thanks, but the instructions for the 4500 don't make it clear what input to hook the transbrake up to. I saw in a post somewhere that the orange wire on the 10-pin connector would be where I have to supply a ground to for a 4500 transbrake application. However, I can't verify that via the instructions or help.

It's not a specific pin, it's an assigned pin (Rev Limiter #1 in the Spark ICF). See page 67: https://documents.holley.com/199r11322r.pdf (Sniper EFI Stealth 4500 Instruction Manual)

I run a 4500 on a dragster with a 632. I have it set to stay in open loop until 6300 RPM. The RPM that the I leave the line and do not dip below with the shift. Works very well. I manually tuned for driving around the pits with the help of the datalogger. Cary

From the Sniper EFI software, select Toolbox then Enable Boost.
Select the Boost Icon. 'Transbrake/Launch Input' menu is now available.
Select the spare Input you have available that is wired to you transbrake switch.

EFI System Pro has a great write up with screenshots: https://www.efisystempro.com/efi-pro...per-efi-system. Gary.
