Thread: Trying to find power source to tap into '92 Mustang.

Default Trying to find power source to tap into '92 Mustang.

Where can I find crank & run power on my '92 Mustang? I have the steering column wide open now and I researched the Mustang wiring page Very Useful.com, but I don’t understand it honestly. I need to power up the single red/white loose lead in my 550-606N Ford kit and a single power lead from the 553-109 Digital Dash. I believe both call for crank & run power. Danny, on the '92 mustang, should I tap into the red/light green ignition wire leading to the ignition coil, TFI, EEC power relay? The red/light green wire is hot in run or start. Or one of the big yellow wires that head to the ignition switch power? I believe the yellow wires are hot at all times. Please help me guys. Thank you!

It's red/light green at the ignition harness on my '94. There are bound to be differences between the two, so you need to test with a meter to be sure it has power while cranking.
