Default How far can I update my ECU?

Recently, I bought a used HP EFI system from a friend. I have yet to connect it to read the current firmware version, but he said it was a first version ECU. How far can I update the ECU before the updates aren't compatible?

The first version, as in "V1"? I'd contact Holley Tech Service (LINK) to be sure about that.

Yes, the V1. I'll give them a call and inquire.
Update: Holley Tech says it's OK to update directly to the latest firmware version.
