Connecting Sportsman to MSD Grid

I am going to connect my Grid to my Sportsman. There is one channel I want to log. I have a question on the v-net wiring though. Can it be wired like this:



Or does it require a Tee and a Cap before the Grid like this:



If it has to be wired like the second option, I am assuming the internal resistor in the Sportsman has to be disabled. Is this correct? If so, how is this done?

sir,

you do not need another t cap. Just the one that comes with the sportsman. So your first diagram looks to be correct.
