Thread: Output question

    Default Output question

Does Smartwire have an output that is ground?
A ground is required to activate the over-ride on a Aeromotive fuel pump speed controller; would like Smartwire to send a grounded output when TPS > 25% or if fuel pressure falls to <65psi.

    Please Advise

I know it sort of defeats the purpose of the smartwire in one way, but if it can not pull to ground (I don't have one so no idea) you could use a smartwire output to switch on a relay with a ground connected to your speed controller via a normally open contact. 12V from the smartwire, ground from the relay.

Connect a channel of the smartwire directly to the pump + and configure channel as required this will have the added benefit of being a failsafe for the pump controller or remove pump controller and use 2 channels of smartwire to do the job

Are you looking to be able to control the speed of the pump rather tan switch it on?
