Unfortunately a window 8 does not work with those older cartridges. They do work uploading via your programming serial cable. You will need to make sure that you have a USB to serial adaptor that is windows 8 compatible though.
Another option that you have is to upgrade to our new SD cartridge reader. (P# 890-KT-CARTSD) They retail for $549 but if you would like to send us your old cartridge, reader, and cable we will credit you $200 towards your new purchase of the SD cartridge reader. This new reader will transfer your data to an SD card and allow you to upload the data to your newer windows computer by uploading via the SD card.
I am in a similar situation, I have a V300 (non SD) and have windows 10.
Can the SD cartridge reader. (P# 890-KT-CARTSD) be used to update configuration settings in the V300 (such as adding new sensors etc) or will this need to be done via a cable?
