Output Switch Inaccurate

I have the output switch programmed on at 8300 and off at 8700. Dragster shifts at 7600 to 7700 always. I called MSD support and was told to purchase part number 8830. This did not change anything other than make my pocket book have less. Can someone please tell me what are all the reasons why it shifts inaccurately?

It might help to mention what ignition you have here. A bit like walking into a parts store and asking for wiper blades.
