Both coils fire when White wire is touched tp ground. MC2 , '89 GSXR 750
I bought an MC2, hooked it up and cranked it and nothing. I then disconnected the White wire to see if the coil sparked and it did. I then tried the Green wire and it also sparked. I then had 1 plug wire from each coil spaced 1/2" away from ground and both coils fired when I tried the Green wire to ground. Isn't only one coil supposed to fire? I used to have an MC3 for about 10 years. It finally gave out. I then ran it with the stock ignition til I got this box, so I know the stock ignition works.

Ok, now I disconnected the green wire, cranked it, and weird thing, the bike fired right up! The Blue coil wire is not cut, so it should be set for 4 cyl, right? C'MON, PLEASE RESPOND!!!

The MC2 has two channels one for cylinders 1 and 4, and the other for cylinders 2 and 3. If one of the channels is not connected you should only have spark on one channel.

After checking the 1423 pattern, i might have had them mixed up. Now, how can i use the mc2 if i hook up to the pickup coil, if it only has one magnet?
-
What triggers are you using on your engine.
-
My stock ignitor went out so i wanted to see if i could trigger the box off of the stock pickup coil.
-
there is no way to use the stock trigger to run the MC2.
-
So what msd trigger can i use?
-
Sorry to say we do not offer a trigger for your motorcycle engine. You can use a dyna set of trigger to run the MC2 ignition.

Ok, now, can the MC2 be triggered off of a regular magnetic pickup, or does it have to be a Hall Effect? Thanks!!
