4217 Single Cyl Question

Hey, I am interested in using the 4217 Single Cylinder Programmable ignition on my 1993 Yamaha WR500 Dirtbike engine. It uses a pretty standard ignition magneto with pulser coil to tell the cdi to fire the coil.

Can I just send the signal from the pulser-coil to the 4217 as my reference, or do i need to setup some different form of pickup?

The 4217 ignition will work with a two wire mag pickup or a Hall Effect trigger system. As long as your Yamaha is equipped with a two wire pickup you can connect the stock pickup wires to the violet and green wire coming from the 4217 unit. Remember this unit is not pre programmed for your engine you will need to use the supplied software to set up the ignition for your application.
