6AL tachomerter port

Quick question about the MSD-6AL tachometer port...

Is a signal generated at the port once per rpm, or once per ignition event (8 pulses per rpm for 8cyl)?

I'm hoping it's the latter! :001_smile:

OK, brain-fart there. :blush:

The 6AL produces a signal at the tach output port once per ignition/spark event which means 4 "pulses" per rpm in a V8, not 8 as indicated above, duh!

I'm building a DIY rpm logger (as part of a DIY data acquisition rig) and this is much-needed info. Hope someone else can use it as well.
