    Default 5.0 Ford Fuel Pressure Regulator Installation Instructions

    First things first: Once correctly installed the regulator works just great. P/N 512-500-1

    Two questions / comments:

    1. The installation instructions never even mention that the regulator must use engine vacumn to work properly. Not a big problem but not having any mention of this requirement is a bit off putting on the integrity of the product. Additionally even the drawing of the unit doesn't show hooking up vacumn.

    2. I'm using the unit on a blown (Kenny Belle) 306 with cam, heads, etc. Since there isn't any mention of vacumn should the unit get it's signal from the blown side or the vacumn side. (I'm using the vacumn side and it seems to work well.)

    If it's a boost referenced pressure regulator, the vacuum port needs to be connected to the boost side of the blower in order to proportionately increase fuel pressure under boost. (Unless you're enrichening fuel, under boost, by some other means such as an ECU.)

    Disconnected the fuel regulator from the vacumn side and connected it to the boodt side and things are better: using the computer fuel control I now have an 11.5 AFR without having to adjust the % of fuel. Makes tuning a lot easier- thanks.

    Again- Holley, why not even a hint on what to hook up? When looking at the regulator the adjustment screw looks just like that, an adjustment screw, no indication it is also the vacumn / boost port!

    Anyway running good. I hope to take it to Woodburn Drag strip this Friday, if the weather cooperates- the forecast is rain showers but in Oregon it (the weather) can seemingly change by the hour or even by the minute.
