Hi. I'm looking to put a pin into the 558-410 connector (ignition harness) so that I can tap A28 (EST spout) for a tach signal. What generic plug is it? What pin can I use?

Hello newbie here and to Holley EFI. Could someone please help with wiring the Unterminated Harness for the Dominator part number 558-105? All I see in the wiring instructions is the 558-104 in running a Hall-Effect with the MSD cam sync distributor. In this harness, I have (2) cables both containing black, purple & red wires and go to terminals A14 (black), but on the only diagram (558-104) it shows a green wire and other to B20 (red) and I know I can use these for the wiring of both the cam sync and Hall-Effect and can I eliminate the ignition set of wires to cleanup install? If you could explain or show me the wiring connections of both, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Just for the record, the Holley 558-105 Unterminated Universal Main Harness is intended for people with wiring experience.

It's quick & easy to move the ignition module ground wire from (cavity) pin D "Chassis Ground" to pin C or G "IPU Ground", where it should be.

If you don't have the actual Metri-Pack terminal release tool, a "safety pin" will work.
It just needs to be a stiff wire between .030"-.035" in diameter to release the terminal tab.
Then reopen (bend) the terminal tab before reinsertion, so it will clip (lock) into the cavity.

Also, don't use (cavity) pin E "Switched +12V" from the 10-pin Ignition Connector, to power an ignition module (or crank & cam sensors), unless you've modified the wiring source to connect from pin B20 - EST 12V Output (P1B ECU Connector). This LINK explains why & how to do it.

Thanks for all the info and I do have experience with wiring as I did all my MSD, but this is definitely more involved and a little tricky doing it for the 1st time.

You're welcome. And yes, you can remove any unnecessary wiring. I also added one more link to post #155 above.

Thanks. I just gotta figure out if I can, as I'm not currently running EFI. It's just carb nitrous application, but I'll use EFI in the future.

Pay attention if purchasing the connector itself, they make two versions; a flat shaped six terminal connector (1 row of six), and a square shaped six terminal connector (2 rows of three).

Danny, I'm sad to report that right now I'm at a complete dead end. Part number 15460171 is showing to be obsolete. Mousers website suggested 13539171 as a "similar" part. I ordered a few, and sadly it's not the same. What I don't understand is how Holley and other aftermarket EFI companies are making harnesses using an obsolete part. I also don't understand how a connector that was used on millions of vehicles can be obsolete. These are not questions I expect you to answer, but I'm just voicing my frustrations. Any further help is appreciated. Andrew
EDIT: Ended up ordering them here: https://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/pr...oducts_id/1078

I'm surprised the 13539171 didn't work as they've replaced the 15460171 with it. See attached picture:
