    Hi. This will be a silly question, but if the ECU is NOT looking after timing, do I need IDLE SPARK CONTROL enabled? - quoting below notes.

    Idle Spark Control Tuning: The Idle Spark Control basically fine tunes the idle speed by manipulating the timing (quickly increasing & decreasing in accordance to RPM). The idle quality must be well tuned before adjusting these two parameters. If the idle is well tuned (fuel & IAC), the Idle Spark PID control can actually help determine the optimum timing advance at idle (LINK & LINK). It may help to datalog various P & D combinations (name the datalog by the two numbers to decipher them), and look for the straightest RPM line. This is because you can't watch the idle RPM on the Data Monitor, since they change too fast and the tachometer usually isn't an accurate enough indicator of idle stability. I've found values of 20 (P term) & 40 (D term) are a good start with Holley EFI systems.
    P & D Definitions - Excerpt from Holley EFI manual:
    • P Term – The speed at which the ignition timing is varied to maintain target idle.
    • D Term – Eliminates the overshoot.

    If the ECU is not controlling timing, then it does not matter if it's enabled or not.

    Since this isn't an ECU timing controlled application, simply ignore all timing related EFI parameters.

    Is there documentation somewhere that outlines the differences in the selections available in the Advanced Idle Control drop down on the Idle ICF? Thanks. Holley's description isn't real descriptive:
    Parameters - IAC Control - Advanced Idle Control
    Description: This drop down is used to select the type of application that is being used. This selection drives the background parameters that control the IAC motor. These parameters have been fine tuned for each of these applications, eliminating the need for the user to perform further modifications. If a different type of IAC motor is used (and none of the current selections work for this motor), or none of the selections provide appropriate IAC control and stability, the “CUSTOM” selection can be chosen which open up several advanced tuning parameters.

    ‒ On the top Toolbar, click "Help" & "Contents". This opens all Help topics.
    ‒ When navigating the software, click "Help ?", drag it to any parameter and click again.
    ..This automatically opens the definitions for that specific parameter.
    ‒ Tuning information can be read by clicking the F1 key, when you're viewing any screen.

    Click the "F1" key for some of the PID & Blanking values. If that doesn't help you, contact Holley Tech Service (LINK).

    I'm running a Dominator ECU on my 427 SBC with an F2 ProCharger on E85. The cam is 274°/286° @ .050" with 108° ICL, 112° LSA and 0.704" lift. It idles at 1400 RPM and I can't get the IAC anywhere near the recommended percentage. Can the Dominator use Alpha-N for idle below a certain RPM/TPS and switch to Speed Density mode above this point?

    Yes, that's the "Combo" or "VE Combo" Load Sensing option in Engine Parameters. This enables the Alpha-N Idle Fuel screen in the Fuel ICF.
