    Danny, if I make the adjustments you recommended, do I need to disable Learn mode to prevent it from being changed? My entire Learn Table is constantly changing a few percent, no matter how long it has been Learning. I don't actually plan to do this anyway because my car idles so well, it just bothers me that I don't understand. Thanks in advance!

    No, Learning should still remain enabled, but decreased in the idle area (as always). The 3rd paragraph under "Base Fuel Table" explains this.

    To tag on to this subject, what would you recommend for this? I have a boat setup with dual IACs. Idle at 800, IAC around 10. When I shift into gear, the IAC catches it fine, and RPM drops to 700, sometimes lower, and just stays there. I would like to be at 800 idle, shift into gear, and remain at 800. Or dip below, and then go back to 800. Thanks in advance.

    Adjust the idle speed screw on throttle body, to achieve an IAC Position of about 5% at hot idle.
    Remember to perform another TPS AutoSet, whenever you adjust the idle speed screw on the throttle body.
    In the Idle ICF, the "Target Idle Speed (RPM)" must be programmed to the desired RPM speed at hot idle.

    Danny, I never understand "all" of this, but I always read "them." Keep up the good work. Even though you & I have had some disagreements, I appreciate your work. Your recent posting of the course materials was very helpful. I hope Holley will keep this up, and release more. Perhaps some sort of "home" course.

    I've been fiddling to get a nicer idle. Engine is 5.3L Gen IV with GM ASA cam.
    I don't have enough info regarding the cam, but I decided to change the Injector End Angle. I set it to -90°, and there was a noticeable improvement in idle stability and quicker warm starts.
    Also, I have heard that cams with a lot of overlap like more spark advance at idle. Currently I'm running 23°. Is this "a lot" or can I safely add more? Any comments are welcome. Andrew

    Most street performance engines will idle well with 15°-25° of timing advance (stock cam - 20°, performance cam - 25°, radical cam - 30°).

    Fiddled a little more. Tried Injector End Angle at -120°, made it better for hot start. Tried -180° and it was hard to start. Set it back to -120°. Tried different settings for Cranking Timing, but it seemed to start best at 15°.
    The biggest change happened when I set the idle timing to 26° (I was running 23° before, not 25°). The idle smoothed out and became more stable. It also seemed to pull nicer off idle, which with a stick shift car is nice. All good stuff. Andrew
