I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota R/T = 5.9L V8 with a distributor & single coil (MSD Super Conducter wires , HyperTech coil , NAPA brass contact cap/rotor , NGK plugs 1 range colder than stock). I am looking to improve fuel economy & quicken throttle response. Will the Blaster Ignition PN 5900 help ? Thanks for your help !

yes the Blaster will help over all. It is a high amp inductive ignition that will help increase fuel burn over what the factory ignition is capable of. The amount of gains seen will very from application to application but it will help. The 6 series like the 6A part number 6200 will actually be a better choice. This is a actual CD ignition which will produce more energy compared to the blaster through out the entire engine RPM range. Both will help but the gains will normally be more noticeable with the 6.
